Overview

A handful of French teenagers set off on a school excursion to Pompeii, eager to explore the ancient ruins and the figures preserved by Mount Vesuvius in 79 CE. In that city of the dead, a sudden, disorienting spell sweeps over them. One by one, James, Toni, Suzanne, and their Latin instructor, Mme Mercier, find themselves consumed by lust, rage, and hopelessness—until they give in entirely and lose all that they are.
