Champagne Charlie
Overview
Charles Heidsieck pioneered the Champagne trade in America just before the Civil War erupted. Drawn reluctantly into espionage for France, he is eventually caught and imprisoned in a Union jail. Alongside his story unfold two intertwined romances, reflecting his French nature. Meanwhile, he clashes with his uncle over who will control the family vineyard—a feud rooted in the uncle's old jealousy, since Heidsieck's father married the woman the uncle had also loved.
