In the early 1760s, David Hartley trudges back across the West Yorkshire moors toward his family’s isolated hilltop home after seven years in Birmingham. Badly injured and hauling a strange bag of tools, he stumbles upon six mythical stag-men. They offer him aid, whispering that his earthly purpose is far from finished.
