Overview

After serving time, Frankie Machine, a former illegal card dealer and struggling heroin addict, aims to turn his life around. With just an old drum set in hand, he seeks a fresh start as a musician. However, his attempt at a clean slate is jeopardized when his past employer and drug dealer come back into the picture. As the pressure mounts, Frankie battles to resist the temptations of his former life, ultimately facing the difficult choice of returning to his destructive ways.
