Overview

Two impoverished young lovers, Mitsuko and Kando, fight to stay together as society pushes them away. They survive as thieves, barely paid laborers, and outcasts, clinging to each other through brutal hardship. The film focuses on their battles inside Japan’s reformatory system, while Mitsuko’s health steadily declines, threatening the fragile hope they share.
